Sunday Roast in Glen Nevis
I left Tirindrish House, after my first Scottish Breakfast, and drove south along the coast toward Fort William. I then turned east into the Glen Nevis highlands, and happened on a filming site from the Harry Potter movies.
I had Sunday Roast at Glen Nevis Restaurant, this is a traditional Scottish Sunday meal of Pot Roast of Beef, Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Potatoes, Carrot, Broccoli and Yorkshire Pudding with gravy and horseradish sauce.
Oban
I left Glen Nevis headed south, thru Appin, to Oban, a costal seafood city on the west coast. I saw the North Pier, with views of McCaig’s Tower (inspired by the Colosseum), and what I think may be the tall ship Fryderyk Chopin.
Tarbert & Anchor Hotel, Seabed Restaurant
I arrived at the Anchor Hotel in Tarbert and had Sunday supper at the excellent Seabed restaurant, “Salmon en Croute, filled with tomato & spinach mouse, horseradish mash, vine tomatoes, wilted greens and garlic cream sauce” and a mini-mac side.
Later that night I went to the Corner House pub next door and watched part of the men’s championship game at the US Open.
