Urquhart Castle & Eilean Donan Castle
I went to Urquhart Castle, paid to park, and walked to the visitor’s center, but it was very cold and raining sideways, so I turned around and left.
Next I drove by Eilean Donan Castle and snapped 2 pics. I had planned to take the tour here, and altho the weather had improved, and I wanted to save time for the Isle of Skye, which turned out to be a good decision.
The Isle of Skye
Skye is accessible by car over the Skye Bridge. I drove over the bridge and on to Portree for lunch, then up the eastern cost to Duntulm in the north. The roads were sharply curvy, and often only one lane. There are places along the way to pull over to the side to allow oncoming traffic to pass. Everyone cooperates, and waves as they pass. These road conditions meant slow going, it took around an hour to get to Duntulm in the far north. I began to worry, at this rate, I will never get to my lodgings for the night in time. Lucky for me, when I turned south toward Uig, there is a motorway (highway), and it only takes half an hour to get back to Portree, back the way I cam, and back over the bridge. There were so many gorgeous scenes, and I wanted to take many more pictures, but my hands were white-knuckle glued to the steering wheel, and I couldn’t stop to take more photos.

I stayed in this historic bed & breakfast. I forgot to take a picture of the exterior, so I did not take the photo, but wanted to document it.
