Buckingham Palace & Windsor Castle

This is the first organized tour I bought thru Viator. We went inside the state apartments, and again, as part of the Royal Collection, interior photography is not allowed. The photos are of the back of the Palace, the side that faces the grounds where the annual Garden Party takes place.

After exiting Buckingham Palace I walked to the tour office and boarded a bus to Windsor Castle. I went in St George’s Chapel, where the Order of Garter convenes, and where Queen Elizabeth II is entombed with her husband, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, near her parents, George VI and Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. Windsor is the longest continuous royal residence in Europe, going back to the reign of Henry I (Normandy) in 1100, almost a thousand years. I toured inside the state apartments (no interior photography). Then I had supper at the Shakespeare near Victoria Station. Fish-n-chips again. Love it.
